The Bear’s Grove: Bardic Circle presents “Heart of the Hunter,” a serialized swords-and-sorcery game-inspired story.

When the Hoskins Irregulars announce they are recruiting for a trip north from the city of Blacpool, the job attracts freebooters, wanderers, and ne’er-do-wells:

Peter Goldpond, a veteran mercenary who’s in hip deep with a loan shark;

Raven, a young half-Lunargenti sneak-thief girl with a dark secret;

and Auryn, a mysterous wunjo Gypsy wanderer in threadbare silk.

Together with an unassuming shepherd named Alobar, the company must find a way to get two large mercantile wagons North up the old River Road to Irontown in the Coldwastes; a road that has gone unused since the Gnael-tongue raids of last summer.

Little do they know that more than just their lives and their pay hang in the balance.

Heart of the Hunter is the first of the Cora-Ni Chronicles to be presented on “The Bear’s Grove Bardic Circle.”

This is the Episode 0 podcast of “The Bear’s Grove: Bardic Circle”
Located at http://feeds.feedburner.com/bardscircle, with the show notes at
http://bardscircle.blogspot.com, the Bardic Circle is a spoken-word / dramatic reading podcast of original RPG, gaming and game-related fantasy, horror and science fiction.

This week’s story is “Sweet Pain Free,” by Sam Chupp, voiced by Juliann of the It Won’t Kill You podcast. This story was originally written for the ShadowNEssence website / forum. It is a horror story in the “Wraith: the Oblivion” universe and really should be rated PG-13 or R — so it is NOT SAFE FOR WORK OR AROUND KIDS.

Music is by Fumitaki Anzai.

This podcast once featured music from a certain artist. Because that artist uses unethical practices when recording others without their knowledge and consent, I have withdrawn all support from this artist. Thus, the music has been removed. I apologize if this causes you difficulty in the podcast itself.

We return to our regular format next week. Thanks!
